One Dollar Peep Show
Bells will certainly be jingling at the After Dark on Thursday 14 December when One Dollar Peep Show headline at night of live music.
Formed from the ashes of Riser, One Dollar Peep Show recently held a rip-roaring bash to celebrate the launch of their debut album, called Showreel. They mix the discordant with the lush - combining sweet vocal melodies, virtuoso wah-wah guitars and pulsating beats.
The Colours
The Colours are anthemic. Full stop. Voluminous keyboard-driven songs balloon out and fill the room, sometimes dancy, sometimes rocky, sometimes funky. A Channel 4 reviewer described them as "better than a Morning Runner". They've got a new EP out now called Aurora Borealis.
The Sand Creek Massacre
The Sand Creek Massacre deliver dark and atmospheric alt rock that's topped off with the singer's high rasping Neil Young-style vocals. Expect slide guitars and razor-sharp riffage from this brooding five-piece. They've just finished recording in the Whitehouse studios so expect new material from them very soon.
Off The Radar
Watch out! For Off The Radar will drench you with bucket-loads of glorious pop and sun-drenched harmonies, then dry you off with their darker rockier material. In recent months OTR have been working on new tunes and writing lyrics for their second album 'Cut to the Chaser'. This was recorded in September 2006 at TPot in Scotland by Robin Evans (The View/Manic Street Preachers/Dodgy/Sam Brown). It will be released early next year.
